Sustainable Housing for Seniors

We all know how important it is to take care of the environment.  Glencroft is truly a leader in that effort as we work to improve our energy efficiency, reduce our water usage, and make improvements in our various housing options by using renewable sources whenever possible.  We have taken an aggressive path in the ‘green’ renovation of the apartments in The Towers at Glencroft.  Each unit has been remodeled using energy efficient appliances and renewable materials throughout.  During our annual Arbor Day celebration, dozens of new trees are planted that require less water, but will provide more shade.  In building Sarah’s Place at Glencroft, every effort is being made to be completely ‘green’ in all phases of construction.  Area volunteers changed out incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs in approximately 200 of our Casitas and Crossings units.  This not only improved the amount and quality of light in senior’s homes, but it reduced utility bills by saving energy.  It is our desire to maintain the healthiest environment possible for both our residents and our community.
