Awards to fund exercise and walking path for ZoeLife program participants

Glendale, Ariz. — (April 6, 2022) [SA1] — Glencroft Center for Modern Aging, the largest senior living campus in Arizona located in Glendale, has received $70,000 in grants and will use the funding to construct a walking and exercise trail for its residents. Construction is underway with a fall completion target.

ZoeLife is Glencroft’s signature program that helps Glencroft residents maintain a healthy, active lifestyle while improving their quality of life. ZoeLife is based on six wellness pillars: spiritual, emotional, social, physical, intellectual and vocational wellness.

“These generous gifts from our community will help enrich the lives of our residents while helping us continue to foster the key elements of ZoeLife,” said Steve Heller, vice president and director of operations at Glencroft and co-founder of ZoeLife. “The exercise trail further illustrates the Glencroft difference and will further show how we don’t warehouse our residents, but give them a reason to live and age in health and wellness.”

The trail will include several pieces of exercise equipment to give residents safe, but effective ways to maintain health. The $70,000 gift came from four Valley grant-makers partnering with Glencroft to make this outdoor exercise opportunity for residents a reality. These partners are Diane and Bruce T. Halle Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, the BHHS Legacy Foundation and a funder who chooses to remain anonymous.

“The generosity of our community is truly an inspiration for Glencroft and our residents,” added Heller. “This series of grants proves that our community cares for our seniors and wants them to have happiness and health as they age.”
