Bezos Academy Opens at Glencroft: A New Chapter for Intergenerational Living in Glendale, AZ

Something meaningful took shape at Glencroft this month.

With the ribbon cutting of Bezos Academy Sahuaro Glenn, a new chapter began. Not just for early childhood education, but for how people of different ages live alongside each other in one connected community.

For over 50 years, Glencroft has served older adults in Arizona. That mission has always been about helping people live their best lives. Today, that mission is expanding.

A Campus That Brings Generations Together

The opening of Bezos Academy introduces a Montessori-inspired preschool directly onto the Glencroft campus.

Children ages 3 to 5 will now learn and grow here, just steps away from residents who have spent a lifetime building families, careers, and communities.

This is not a separate program placed nearby. It is part of the campus.

And that changes everything.

A Community, Not Separate Spaces

At the ribbon cutting, residents, staff, community leaders, and local officials gathered to mark the moment.

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers joined the event, recognizing the impact this kind of intergenerational model can have on the community.

Leaders from Glencroft, Bezos Academy, and community partners stood together as the ribbon was cut, marking the beginning of something that goes beyond a single building.

This is what the Generations program looks like in action.

What Generations Looks Like Day to Day

This is not about scheduled interaction.

It’s about proximity.

Children walking through campus. Residents stopping to talk, to wave, to ask questions. Conversations that happen naturally.

Young adults building their lives through partner programs. Residents offering perspective, guidance, and connection.

It’s everyday life, shared.

That’s where the value is.

Designed for How Life Actually Works

Most communities separate age groups.

Glencroft is doing the opposite.

By bringing different stages of life together, the campus begins to feel more like a self-sustaining community. A place where people continue to grow, contribute, and stay connected.

It feels less like a transition.

And more like a continuation.

A Foundation Built Over Time

Glencroft’s Generations program builds on decades of service.

As a not-for-profit organization, Glencroft has focused on creating a community where people can live with purpose, connection, and support.

The addition of Bezos Academy strengthens that vision.

Experience It

Moments like this are important.

But the real impact is what happens next.

The conversations. The relationships. The daily interactions that make a place feel alive.
